AARP CO Visionary Caregiving Seminar Bethany Lutheran Church Cherry Hills Village, CO 4/30/2014
Topic: Compassion Fatigue - When It Hurts to Care
Speaker: Jane W. Barton, MTS, MASM, CSA (Author of Caregiving for the GENIUS)
Persons and families challenged by neurological diseases and conditions face daunting challenges for extended periods of time. Hence, planning and preparing to care is tremendously important for the care receiver and the caregivers. Families must not only meet the immediate needs of the care receiver but envision future needs as well. Visionary Caregiving programs will address the long-term caregiving needs for persons and families affected by neurological diseases such as Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Huntington’s disease, and disabilities associated with stroke. ALL are welcome to attend the FREE program sponsored by AARP Colorado. Professionals, community members, students, caregivers and care receivers are welcome. Please join us for a lively discussion about the important issue of compassion fatigue.
